This painting was quickly done in 30 minutes. I used texture to add to the feeling of distress and frailty. Using water, I caused the pastel to run and I did no cover texture.
I wanted a very loose and interesting texture. However I still wanted to retain contrast and vivid color. Most of these types of decisions are made very randomly and quickly.
